hell hello hello!!!
i am one of the niciest guys you would come accross& i do so much for the cleveland scene....i book shows, manage bands, run a small DIY distro/zine & have other ongoing projects.

you may have seen me around i am THE KID WITH THE HAIR IN HIS FACE aka JEREMY KOTELES

i am sure you have probly seen flyers for my shows or been to one of the events i have put together...........i just want you to know that i manage THE NIGGERS & why are you having such a grief with them huh??? is it because they are all white & not black????
what does that matter, it has nothing to do with racism & the word only means "INGNORANT PERSON" right???
it is how society has solely put the classification on that word so many people fear it & make to beleive that black people should own that word. no one owns words at all. i have the band name on my jacket & why would a band with such a name be playing a benefit show such as this one if they were racist, huh???? most of the people we are helping for the benefit are black aren't they not????

the most fucked up thing is that i get more shit from white folks than i do blacks becasue of the band name & i feel this is taking a WHITE on WHITE crime....we are trying to change on how people see that word not just push it to the side & leave it alone, it's already a word & is here & won't get away from it just by not dealing with it.

if you play the show, if you don't play the show it is up to you we don't care but remember this is a benefit & you may not agree with everything but that is life!!!!

please feel free to reply back.

the word does not mean ignorant person. people who use it and don't know what it means or bands who name themselves that would be considered ignorant. black or white. the word is used as a disparaging term for a member of any dark skinned people. and disparaging means to belittle or discredit. that is the meaning of the word. we cannot change the meaning of a word. and besides the word itself is not the problem. even if we could change it that is not going to solve the real issues. another word would take its place.

even if the word became 'politically correct' to use we would never know whether the person saying it was or was not racist. don't you see that? and why are you so down with being able to use it? is it really a necessary word to the language?

you might be the nicest guy in the world but that name is messed up. i think it is great that you have concerns for racism and want to address them. but that name needs to go.

i believe the reason blacks have not confronted you as much would be because they have given up on people that use the word like that. they don't feel it is worth the trouble to confront a group of guys using that name. but i can assure you that it is hurting peoples feelings. and that just isn't cool. not even if you are trying to make a point.

i understand that you want to help racism but don't you see that you are creating hate from both sides. instead of helping (which i believe is what you are trying to do) you are just adding fuel. you are making whites angry that a band would name themselves that and you are making blacks angry because it is a band full of white guys. put a black guy in the band (providing you could find one who would be cool with that name) and maybe you are unto something. it will still be very controversial but at least more people might be interested in what was being said.

since katrina there has been growing tension in the country and in no way shape or form is a band with that name helping. i cannot even imagine what the black people of new orleans would think about a band with that naming raising money for them. seems very twisted.

and it would be so simple if we just didn't play the show and that was the end of it but i am afraid you got put on the bill with the wrong guy. this is just starting. i have been on the phone for a couple hours today with black friends who were all appalled that a band would name themselves that. btw it turns out there are 6 others on myspace too.

good news though. more than likely you will get some news coverage. whether it turns out to be in your favor is hard to say.

so unless the band changes its name between now and sunday, we will not be on the bill.
